I’ve never taken Vistaril, but I’ve seen it used on the psychiatric unit where I work and I’m not too impressed with it. I’ve seen kids take it by pill and by shot and it just doesn’t seem to work very quickly, nor does it seem to calm them down very much when they’re anxious or agitated. Like I said, I’ve never taken it myself…I’ve only seen other people’s experiences with it.

Ask your doctor about something like Klonopin or Ativan…those work quickly and seem to do a better job. Hope this helps.
